The Center for Economic Research and Reforms reports on the changes in Uzbekistan’s trade turnover with Central Asian countries in January-May 2026.
In January-May 2026, Uzbekistan's foreign trade volume with Central Asian countries reached $3.5 billion (+27.5% compared to the same period in 2025), accounting for 10.8% of the country’s total foreign trade.
Uzbekistan’s exports to Central Asian countries amounted to $1.3 billion (+30.8%), while imports totaled $2.2 billion (+25.7%).
Breakdown of Uzbekistan’s foreign trade with Central Asian countries:
– With Kazakhstan: trade turnover reached $2.3 billion (+26.4%), including $573.7 million in exports and $1.7 billion in imports.
– With Kyrgyzstan: trade turnover rose by 43.9% to $469 million, including $341.9 million in exports and $127.1 million in imports.
– With Turkmenistan: trade turnover reached $427.9 million (+9.3%), including $77.8 million in exports and $350.1 million in imports.
– With Tajikistan: trade turnover rose by 42.1% and amounted to $375.8 million, including $293.6 million in exports and $82.2 million in imports.
Share of Central Asian countries in Uzbekistan’s trade turnover: Kazakhstan – 64%, Kyrgyzstan – 13%, Turkmenistan – 12% and Tajikistan – 11%.
