Business Activity of the Regions in February 2024

Analysis of business activity is monthly calculated by CERR on the basis of operational data (monitoring in all regions of the republic, according to the data of the State Customs Committee, the State Tax Committee, the Central Bank and the UzEx).

According to the monitoring results, tax revenues for the month increased by 10.8% compared to the same period last year.

At the same time, a significant increase in tax revenues was noted in Surkhandarya (by 20.8%), Syrdarya (by 13.8%), Ferghana (by 10.0%) and in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (by 16.8%).

In terms of sources, revenues from land tax increased by 44%, property tax by 35% and income tax by 23%.

Receipts on customs payments increased by 17.5%. Jizzakh (by 206.5%), Kashkadarya (by 127.0%), Syrdarya (by 59.7%) and Navoi (by 53.0%) regions showed significant growth.

The increase in customs revenues is mainly due to an increase in imports for such types of products as transport equipment and its components, metal and metal products, technical equipment and electrical engineering and its components.

According to the Customs Committee, exports of goods increased by 11.0%. The regions with the highest export growth were Navoi (by 75.0%), Khorezm (by 36.3%), Kashkadarya (by 29.5%) and Samarkand (by 23.9%) regions.

The volume of loans issued by commercial banks increased by 3.9%. The largest increase in the issuance of loans was noted in Navoi (by 38.2%) and Samarkand (by 17.2%) regions.

During the month, transactions on the UzEx increased by 77.0%. The regions that maintained the growth of exchange activity were Jizzakh (by 265.9%), Syrdarya (by 238.4%), Khorezm (by 167.7%) regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (by 219.7%).

The increase in the volume of transactions in these regions was achieved through the sale of goods such as cotton fiber, liquefied gas, automobile gasoline, mineral fertilizers, construction and household materials, wheat flour, technical seeds, wheat, non-ferrous metals, diesel fuel, sugar, rolled ferrous metals and polyethylene, etc.

In February this year, 12,837 new business entities were created, the largest number of which were registered in Samarkand (1,235), Ferghana (1,118), Tashkent (1,046), Khorezm (886), Kashkadarya (814) regions, the Republic of Karakalpakstan (598) and Tashkent (2,890).
