July Sustained the Growth Trend of Business Activity in Uzbekistan’s Regions – CERR

Based on operational data from the Central Bank, the Tax Committee, the Customs Committee, and the Republican Commodity Exchange, experts from the Center for Economic Research and Reforms (CERR) conduct a comprehensive monthly analysis of business activity in all regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

This integrated approach makes it possible to assess entrepreneurial activity in different sectors of the economy at the regional level, evaluate trends and patterns of business development, and identify key factors influencing the economic dynamics of each region. According to the monitoring results, tax revenues in July 2025 demonstrated positive growth, increasing by 18.8% compared to the same period of 2024.

An analysis of the regional dynamics of tax revenues revealed the following tendencies. Tashkent region recorded the highest increase in tax revenues at 49%. Significant growth was also observed in Navoi, Andijan, and Syrdarya regions, with increases of 37.9%, 36.3%, and 35.7% respectively. In Tashkent city, tax revenues grew by 42.8%.

Customs revenues increased by 17.9%. The largest growth was registered in Syrdarya region, reaching 110.6%. Growth was also recorded in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (48%), Navoi region (29.5%), and Tashkent city (21.9%).

Exports of goods in July of this year rose by 10.6% compared to the same period last year. Significant growth in exports was observed in Surkhandarya (50.1%), Samarkand (36.4%), Syrdarya (17.4%), and Khorezm (16.4%) regions.

The volume of loans issued by commercial banks during the period increased by 41.6%. The highest growth in lending was recorded in Syrdarya (77.1%), Navoi (51.7%), Namangan (49.4%) regions, and Tashkent city (51.1%).

In July, 47,660 new business entities were established, with the largest numbers registered in Tashkent region (4,857), Khorezm region (4,274), Fergana region (3,906), and Tashkent city (10,790).

The volume of transactions on the UzEx during the reporting period grew by 31.5%. The highest activity was observed in Kashkadarya (70%), Surkhandarya (52%), Syrdarya (51.6%) regions, as well as in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (59.8%).
