Gender Equality Improves Business Performance in 70% of Companies, but Support Measures Are Declining (International Labour Organization)
According to the International Labour Organization's (ILO) report “Women in Business and Management,” 70% of companies report improved business performance as a result of implementing gender equality measures. However, the share of enterprises adopting such programmes declined from 37.4% in 2018 to 26.5% in 2025.
The study covers 12,000 companies across 99 countries and shows that the global share of women in management positions increased from 24.5% to 30.5% between 2000 and 2025. Meanwhile, the proportion of companies with women chairing their boards of directors more than doubled, rising from 13% to 31% between 2013 and 2025.
Brazil Concludes COP30 Presidency and Unveils Action Plan Ahead of COP31 (Reuters)
Brazil concluded its presidency of the UN climate summit COP30 and presented roadmaps ahead of the next summit, COP31, which begins on 9 November in Türkiye. The plan calls for the development of national energy transition strategies by 2028 and the replacement of fossil fuels between 2031 and 2033.
In 2025, global installed renewable energy capacity increased by 692 GW to 5,149 GW. However, this growth is largely meeting additional energy demand rather than displacing fossil fuels.
To support forest protection, the proposal calls for increasing annual financing from $84.5 billion to $300 billion by 2030.
