Growth of Business Activity in the Regions of Uzbekistan: Results of September

Analysis of business activity is monthly calculated by CERR on the basis of operational data (monitoring in all regions of the republic, according to the data of the State Customs Committee, the State Tax Committee, the Central Bank and the UzEx).

The monitoring results showed that the volume of tax revenues of the Republic in September this year increased by 15.6% compared to the same period last year.

At the same time, a significant increase in tax revenues was noted in Surkhandarya (by 15.3%), Khorezm (by 10.2%), Andijan (by 9.9%), Samarkand (by 9.8%) regions and in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (by 18.2%) in Tashkent (by 7.6%).

In terms of tax revenue sources, income tax increased by 17.9%, property tax by 39.9% and land tax by 28.7%.

Receipts on customs payments for the analyzed period increased by 11.6% compared to the same period in 2023. The largest increase in customs revenues was observed in Kashkadarya (by 192.1%), Bukhara (by 67.0%), Jizzakh (by 65.2%), Syrdarya (by 53.8%), Khorezm (by 29.3%), Navoi (by 28.6%) regions and Tashkent (by 8.0%).

According to the Customs Committee, the volume of exports of goods from the beginning of this year to September 31 increased by 7.4% compared to the same period last year. Export growth was observed in Navoi (by 50.3%), Surkhandarya (by 37.3%), Kashkadarya (by 34.3%), Khorezm (by 24.5%), Ferghana (by 21.2%), and Jizzakh (by 17.3%) regions, and in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (by 18.5%).

The volume of loans issued by commercial banks in the period from January 1 to September 31 this year increased by 8.8% compared to the same period last year.

Loan issuance growth was noted in Tashkent (by 13.0%), Navoi (by 10.9%), Kashkadarya (by 9.4%), Ferghana (by 7.2%), Surkhandarya (by 1.2%) regions, in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (by 4.8%) and in Tashkent (by 19.8%).

The volume of transactions on the UzEx during the analyzed period, it increased by 22.7%. Significant growth in stock exchange activity is observed in Khorezm (by 68.7%), Surkhandarya (by 57.7%), Bukhara (by 48.5%), Jizzakh (by 48.1%) and in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (by 74.1%).

The growth in transaction volumes in these regions is ensured by increasing the sale of goods such as cotton fiber, petroleum products, building materials, mineral fertilizers, wheat, technical seeds and cement, etc.

During the analyzed period, 61,788 new business entities were created, the largest number of which were registered in Khorezm (5,581), Tashkent (5,336), Samarkand (5,215), Ferghana (4,880), Bukhara (4,114) regions, and in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (2,538) and Tashkent (12 551).
