Appointed Presidential Advisor on Economic Policy
By the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Obid Khakimov has been appointed as the Presidential Advisor on Economic Policy.
Obid Khakimov was appointed Deputy Presidential Advisor on Economic Policy and Director of the Center for Economic Research and Reforms in October 2019.
Before this appointment, from 2017 to 2018, Mr. Khakimov served as the Head of the Sector for Protection of Citizens' Rights, Control, and Coordination of Work with Appeals under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Earlier, from 2012 to 2016, he worked as the First Deputy Rector (Academic) of the Academy of State Governance under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
From 2010 to 2012, Mr. Khakimov held the position of the Deputy Rector on Financial Affairs issues of the Westminster University in Tashkent
Mr. Khakimov holds a BSc in Financial and Economic Sciences from the Tashkent Financial Institute and a MSc in Economics from Vanderbilt University (USA). He also holds a PhD in Economics from Middle Tennessee State University (USA).
He has been awarded the Shukhrat Medal.
