Trends in Uzbekistan’s Automotive Market

In February, total sales of all types of motor vehicles amounted to 84.2 thousand units, increasing by 6.4% compared with the same period last year.

Compared with the previous month, activity in the automotive market also showed positive dynamics. Sales increased by 2%, which corresponds to a rise of approximately 1.6 thousand units compared with January.

The most significant increase in sales growth was recorded in the Samarkand region, where the indicator rose by 65%, as well as in the Syrdarya region (7.2%) and the Tashkent region (12%).

New car segment

Sales of new domestically produced vehicles in February amounted to about 24 thousand units, remaining at the level of January of the current year. At the same time, in annual terms sales increased by 10.7%.

A higher growth rate was observed in the segment of new foreign-made vehicles. Sales increased 1.5 times compared with February last year, reaching around 3 thousand units.

Electric vehicle segment

Activity in the passenger electric vehicle segment continues to demonstrate steady growth. In February, sales reached 6.9 thousand units, which is 14% higher than in the previous month.

In annual terms, electric vehicle sales increased 1.5 times, indicating continued expansion of this market segment.

The regional structure shows that the largest share of electric vehicle sales is concentrated in the city of Tashkent. In February, about 4.5 thousand electric vehicles were sold in the capital, accounting for around 65% of total sales in this segment.
