The Business Activity Index (BAI), calculated by the Center for Economic Research and Reforms, stood at 1,010 points in July 2026, increasing by 1% compared with the previous month (year-on-year growth amounted to 27%, Chart 1).
In July, the BAI components showed mixed dynamics. The component reflecting the number of transactions on business entities’ bank accounts decreased by 3.4%. The intensity of raw material purchases on the commodity exchange increased by 3.6%. The component reflecting active business entities rose by 0.8%, while the trademarks component increased by 18%.
In July 2026, the BAI also increased month-on-month in 12 regions (Chart 2).
In particular, significant growth was recorded in Jizzakh (48.9%), Kashkadarya (44.3%), Surkhandarya (43.5%), Andijan (43.2%), and Syrdarya (41.8%) regions.
At the same time, in Navoi (4%) and Khorezm (0.7%) regions, the indicator decreased.
During the reporting period, the number of interbank payment transactions amounted to 7,660.8 thousand, increasing by 270.2 thousand transactions (3.4%) compared with June 2026.
An increase in the number of interbank payment transactions was recorded in 10 regions. In particular, the number of banking transactions between legal entities increased significantly compared with the previous month in Syrdarya (25.7%), Jizzakh (23.9%), Surkhandarya (13.9%), and Kashkadarya (13%) regions.
At the same time, the indicator declined in Tashkent city (5.3%), Fergana (3.4%) and Tashkent (0.9%) regions, as well as in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (1.2%).
In July, the BAI commodity exchange component stood at 1.0360 points, increasing by 3.6% compared with the previous month.
At the same time, the average volume of goods purchased per transaction increased by 14.4%, while the number of concluded transactions decreased by 7.2%.
The total turnover of commodity trading on the Uzbek Republican Commodity Exchange amounted to 9,722 billion sums, up 2.2% compared with the previous month.
During the reporting period, this component stood at 1.0078 points, increasing by 0.8% compared with the previous month.
The total number of active business entities increased by 5,643 to 535.9 thousand. The number of large enterprises increased by 10 to 4,659. The number of small enterprises rose by 5.5 thousand to 440.9 thousand. The number of farms increased by 86 to 90.4 thousand.
In July 2026, the trademarks component stood at 1.1797 points, increasing by 18% compared with the previous month.
During this period, legal entities registered 558 trademarks and trade names.
