The Center for Economic Research and Reforms regularly analyzes activity trends in Uzbekistan’s automotive market. The review covers the main market segments and regional developments.
In June, total motor vehicle sales exceeded 80,200 units, increasing by 18% compared with May.
Regional Dynamics
Motor vehicle sales increased in most regions of the country in June. A slight month-on-month decline was recorded only in the Jizzakh region, at 2.2%.

The highest growth rates were observed in the Surkhandarya region, at 33.7%, and the Khorezm region, at 32.6%, followed by the Syrdarya region at 29%, the Samarkand region at 28.3%, the Kashkadarya region at 26.2%, and the Andijan region at 26%.
In Tashkent, motor vehicle sales increased by 9% over the month and reached 17,900 units.
Passenger Car Market
In June, total passenger car sales amounted to 61,400 units, increasing by 14% compared with May.

Primary Passenger Car Market
Sales of new passenger cars increased by 11% and reached 24,000 units. The main contribution to growth came from domestically manufactured vehicles, sales of which rose by 12% to 18,800 units.
Sales of new foreign-manufactured vehicles amounted to 5,100 units, almost 7% higher than in the previous month.
In the first half of 2026, sales of new passenger cars increased by 3.5% compared with the same period of the previous year and reached 157,000 units.
Secondary Passenger Car Market
Over the month, sales of used passenger cars increased by more than 16%, exceeding 37,000 units.
In the first half of the year, passenger car sales in the secondary market reached nearly 240,000 units, which was 18% below the level recorded in the same period of the previous year.
Electric Vehicle Market
In June, electric vehicle sales in the primary and secondary markets totaled 8,400 units, increasing by 63.5% compared with May 2026.

In the first half of the year, more than 40,000 electric vehicles were sold, 40% more than in the same period of the previous year.
Growth in activity was recorded in most regions of the country, while a decline was observed only in the Syrdarya region, at 2.9%.
The highest growth rate was recorded in the Jizzakh region, at 101%, followed by the Bukhara region at 64.6% and the Fergana region at 58.5%.
Electric vehicle sales remained highly concentrated in Tashkent. In June, the capital accounted for approximately 63% of the total market. Sales increased by 78% compared with May of this year and reached 5,300 units.
