Activity in Uzbekistan’s Automotive Market Remains High

The Center for Economic Research and Reforms (CERR) regularly analyzes trends in Uzbekistan’s automotive market. The review covers the main segments of the automotive market as well as regional developments.

In July 2026, total sales of all types of motor vehicles amounted to nearly 80 thousand units, remaining broadly in line with the previous month (-0.7%).

Passenger Car Market

Passenger car sales in July remained at the previous month’s level, totaling 61.1 thousand units compared with 61.4 thousand in June.

New Passenger Car Market

Sales of new passenger cars increased by 5.9% to 25.4 thousand units.

The main contribution came from domestically produced vehicles, sales of which rose by 8.3% to 20.4 thousand units.

Sales of new foreign-made cars totaled 5 thousand units, down nearly 3% compared with the previous month.

Used Passenger Car Market

Sales of used passenger cars declined by 4.4% in July to 35.7 thousand units.

Electric Vehicle Market

A total of 9.3 thousand electric vehicles were sold in the new and used vehicle markets during the month, up 10.8% compared with the previous month.

Sales increased in most regions of the country. The most notable increases were recorded in Tashkent region, where sales rose by 699 units, and Fergana region, where they increased by 428 units.

At the same time, the electric vehicle market remains highly concentrated in the capital. In July, 6 thousand electric vehicles were sold in Tashkent city.
