Business Activity in Uzbekistan’s Regions Strengthened in July — CERR
A comprehensive monitoring of key business activity indicators across Uzbekistan’s regions shows growth across all major metrics.
Based on operational data from the Tax Committee, Customs Committee, Central Bank, and the Uzbek Republican Commodity Exchange, the Center for Economic Research and Reforms (CERR) monitors business activity across the regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
At the end of July this year, tax revenues maintained strong positive momentum, increasing by 43.8% compared with the same period last year.
The most notable increases in tax revenues were recorded in Tashkent, Syrdarya, Navoi, Samarkand, and Jizzakh regions, as well as in Tashkent city, where the average growth rate was around 29%.
Customs payments increased by 18.1%. The highest growth rates were recorded in Namangan Region — 56.4%, Fergana Region — 37.8%, Navoi Region — 37.6%, and Tashkent Region — 27%, as well as in the Republic of Karakalpakstan — 63.6%.
During the period under review, exports of goods increased by 30.4%. The strongest growth in exports was recorded in Tashkent Region — 51.2% and Bukhara Region — 49.6%. In Navoi, Surkhandarya, and Andijan regions, exports increased by an average of around 40%.
At the same time, lending also increased. During the period under review, the volume of loans issued by commercial banks rose by 4.7%. The highest increase was recorded in Samarkand Region (+48.3%). In Andijan, Bukhara, Khorezm, and Fergana regions, lending grew by an average of around 27%.
The volume of transactions on the Uzbek Republican Commodity Exchange increased by 24.3%. The strongest growth in exchange activity was recorded in Surkhandarya Region — 81.9% and Bukhara Region — 64.8%. Navoi, Syrdarya, Andijan, and Khorezm regions also recorded an average increase of around 31%.
