The infographic of the Center for Economic Research and Reform provides an analysis of the ranking results over the past few years.

Experts note that the indicator of economic freedom of Uzbekistan is 58.3, which allowed it to take 108th place in the rating of 2021. The overall score increased by 1.1 points, primarily due to an increase in the efficiency of the judicial system.

Among 40 countries of the Asia-Pacific region, Uzbekistan is in 21st place.

Singapore is the leader of the Index, followed by New Zealand, Australia, Switzerland and Ireland.

The Economic Freedom Index has been compiled by the Heritage Foundation in collaboration with The Wall Street Journal since 1995.

The index ranks the world's countries on a scale from 0 (lowest) to 100 (highest) in four main areas, divided into 12 composite indicators such as Property Rights, Judicial Effectiveness, Government Participation, Tax Burden, Government Spending, Fiscal Health. Freedom of Business, Freedom of the Labor Market, Monetary Freedom, Freedom of Trade, Freedom of Investment and Financial Freedom.

The change in the country's position in various economic international ratings is also one of the important indicators that give an idea of ​​economic processes in the format of global and regional comparisons. Rankings such as the Heritage Foundation's Index of Economic Freedom and the World Bank's Doing Business have a high degree of credibility and serve as a guide for foreign investors in investing in certain countries.

In the ranking of Economic Freedom Index, Uzbekistan has achieved noticeable results in recent years.

In the overall ranking, the position of Uzbekistan has improved from 152nd in 2018 to 108th in 2021. During four years, the growth amounted to 44 positions.

In 2020, Uzbekistan was in 114th place, in 2019 - in 140th, in 2018 - in 152nd.

Thus, international ratings record a significant shift in the field of de-bureaucratization and liberalization of the economy, the emergence of greater freedoms for domestic entrepreneurs and foreign investors.

Over the past few years, Uzbekistan has been carrying out reforms aimed at improving the business climate, attracting foreign investment, strengthening property rights and fighting corruption.

There is a positive trend not only in the country's economy, but also in such important areas as politics and law, innovation and technology, welfare, etc.

The fact of the relationship between international ratings and indices further proves that institutional development affects the economic well-being of the country and its citizens and the development of innovations and information technologies can positively affect the political and legal aspects of the country's life.
