Uzbekistan and Afghanistan signed contracts for the export of goods and implementation of investment projects for $655 million

At the Uzbek-Afghan business forum in Termez, companies of the two countries signed 199 contracts for $655.1 million for mutual supplies of goods and implementation of investment projects.

Gulshan Botirova, head of the press service of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, reported this during the briefing.

Of these, 149 contracts for $483 million provide for the export of Uzbek goods to Afghanistan. Another 50 agreements provide for the implementation of joint investment projects for $172 million.

Businessmen of the two countries plan to launch the production of pharmaceutical and leather goods in the Surkhandarya region ($103 million), produce food in the Namangan and Syrdarya regions ($22.5 million and $17 million, respectively), as well as implement joint investment projects in tourism, agricultural processing. products and production of building materials in the Tashkent region ($19.6 million).
