Infographics: Uzbekistan's foreign trade for January 2025

For January 2025, the republic's foreign trade turnover (FTT) reached $4.5 billion, which, compared to January 2024, increased by $297.2 million (an increase of 7.1%), – the press service of the National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.

Of the total FTT volume, export amounted to $1.3 billion (versus January 2024, an increase of 14.1% was noted), and import – $3.2 billion (an increase of 4.4%).

As a result, the balance of foreign trade turnover amounted to a passive balance worth -$1.9 billion.

Among the 20 major partner-countries in foreign economic activity, there is an active foreign trade balance with three countries, in particular with Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. a negative foreign trade balance remains with the remaining 17 countries.

To this date, the Republic of Uzbekistan carries out trade relations with 154 countries of the world. The largest volume of foreign trade turnover was recorded with China (22.1%), Russia (17.7%), Kazakhstan (7.0%), Turkey (4.7%) and Germany (3.8%).

According to the groups of countries, the largest volume of foreign trade falls on the CIS countries – $1.6 billion, of which the EAEU countries – $1.2 billion, trade turnover with other countries amounted to $2.9 billion, including with the EU countries – $0.6 billion.

In the structure of the Republic's foreign trade turnover, a significant share was recorded in Tashkent, which is 41.7%, or $1.9 billion, and the smallest share was recorded at 1.2% or $52.1 million in Syrdarya region.
