Experts of the Center for Economic Research and Reforms presented the main changes in the socio-economic development of active reforms that took place in the region in 2017-2022.
In 2017-2022, the gross regional product (GRP) of the region increased from 20.7 trillion sums to 55.9 trillion sums, and its real volume increased by 31.6%. This, in turn, ensured the growth of GRP per capita from 5.8 million sums to 14.2 million sums. During this period, the population of the region increased by 9.8% and reached 4.0 million people.
As a result of the effective use of the industrial potential of the region, the volume of industrial production increased from 9.7 trillion sums to 30.4 trillion sums, or by 29.2%. This has made a great contribution to the stable development of the region's economy. The share of industry and construction in the GRP of the region has increased from 23.3% to 26.3% in six years. The volume of market services has also increased significantly, from 7.6 trillion sums to 21.9 trillion sums, or by 80%. The volume of agricultural, forestry and fisheries production in the region increased by 24% and amounted to 33.4 trillion sums.
As a result of measures aimed at liberalizing foreign trade, supporting and stimulating the export activities of business entities, the volume of exports of the region has increased 1.5 times over the past 6 years and reached $830 million.
During this period, measures aimed at further improving the business environment in the region and supporting business entities allowed to master $3.6 billion of investments. As a result, the number of enterprises operating in the region increased 1.6 times to 61.6 thousand and about 264 thousand new jobs were created.
In the field of infrastructure development, 5.5 km of highways, 117 km of gas pipeline and 1715 km of drinking water pipelines have been put into operation over the past 6 years. Special attention is paid to social infrastructure, 6,488,000 m2 of housing has been commissioned, 18,300 places in preschool educational institutions, 53,700 places in schools and 3,100 hospital beds.
Within the framework of the socio-economic development program of the region, a total of $3.6 billion of investments were allocated for the implementation of investment projects in 2017-2022.
