The Center for Economic Research and Reforms presented an updated review of Uzbekistan’s real estate market.
In August this year, around 25.1 thousand housing purchase and sale transactions were registered across the country, virtually unchanged from August last year (+0.2%).
Since the beginning of the year (January–August), housing sales in Uzbekistan increased by 18.4% year-on-year, reaching 222.5 thousand transactions.
After a significant rise in the number of transactions to 43.5 thousand in March, market activity declined in April–May before recovering to 25–26 thousand transactions per month in June–July. In August, activity remained at roughly the same level.
Regional Breakdown
In August, housing market activity increased year-on-year in 6 out of 14 regions. In Tashkent, 7.4 thousand housing purchase and sale agreements were registered, up 2.2% compared with the same period last year.
Meanwhile, since the beginning of the year (January–August), housing sales in the capital increased by 27.5%.
High growth rates since the beginning of the year were also recorded in Syrdarya Region (25.4%) and Andijan Region (23.8%).
