The main socio-economic indicators of the Jizzakh region in the 1st quarter of 2022

In January-March 2022, the Gross regional product (GRP) of the region amounted to 4.2 trillion sums, an increase of 104.7% compared to the same period in 2021 (10th place among the regions of the country in terms of growth rates).

The share of agriculture in GRP was 33.0% (2.9 points less than in the corresponding period of 2021), the share of industry was 18.5% (+3.7), the share of construction was 6.7% (-0.8), the share of services was 41.8% (unchanged).

In some industries, high growth rates were observed, including in the production of consumer goods 195.5% (1st place), retail trade 122.0% (1st place), in the service sector 116.5% (4th place).

According to some economic indicators per capita, the region ranks high in the country. In particular, 2nd place in agricultural production (1586.6 thousand sums), 5th place in retail trade turnover (1678.4 thousand sums), 6th place in fixed capital investments (1246.8 thousand sums), 7th place in GRP volume (2879.5 thousand sums).

Despite the high growth rates and average per capita indicators, the share of the region in the national economy remains low.

In particular, 13th place in GDP (2.6%), industry (2.0%), services (2.4%), construction (2.6%) and 14th place in exports (0.9%).
