Electric Vehicle Sales Surge in September

According to the data, total passenger car sales in September reached 84.6 thousand units, down by 6.4% compared to August.

The sharpest declines were observed in the Surkhandarya and Navoi regions, as well as in Tashkent city.

At the same time, sales growth was recorded in the Syrdarya and Tashkent regions.

Primary market

The segment of new passenger cars showed a moderate seasonal slowdown in September, with sales declining by 15.2% to 31.9 thousand units.

Within this segment, domestically produced new cars maintained their dominant share, with 27.4 thousand units sold – 16.1% less than in the previous month.

Sales of new imported vehicles amounted to 4.5 thousand units, a decrease of 8.9% compared to August.

Secondary market

The secondary car market remained largely stable. In September, used car sales totaled 52.6 thousand units, just 0.1% lower than the previous month.

Electric vehicle segment

September saw record-high electric vehicle sales – 7.8 thousand units – a 21.6% increase compared to August.

In the third quarter of this year, total sales of electric passenger cars reached 20.7 thousand units, representing a 2.2-fold increase compared to the same period last year.

The highest growth was recorded in the Tashkent and Samarkand regions, as well as in the city of Tashkent.
