The Center for Economic Research and Reforms analyzed changes in Uzbekistan’s trade turnover with Central Asian countries in January–August 2026.
In January–August 2026, Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover with Central Asian countries reached $6.1 billion, increasing by 26.2% compared to the same period of 2025. Central Asian countries accounted for 10.7% of Uzbekistan’s total foreign trade turnover.
During this period, Uzbekistan’s exports to Central Asian countries increased by 37.5% to $2.36 billion, while imports rose by 20.1% to $3.78 billion.
By country, Uzbekistan’s foreign trade indicators were as follows:
– trade turnover with Kazakhstan increased by 23.4% to $3.74 billion. Exports amounted to $1.02 billion, while imports reached $2.72 billion;
– trade turnover with Kyrgyzstan increased by 51.2% to $908.4 million. Exports amounted to $673 million, while imports reached $235.4 million;
– trade turnover with Turkmenistan increased by 5.7% to $807.4 million. Exports amounted to $150 million, while imports reached $657.4 million;
– trade turnover with Tajikistan increased by 45.7% to $686.3 million. Exports amounted to $521.4 million, while imports reached $164.9 million.
Kazakhstan accounted for the largest share of Uzbekistan’s trade turnover with Central Asian countries at 61%, followed by Kyrgyzstan at 15%, Turkmenistan at 13%, and Tajikistan at 11%.
