The Ministry of Public Education and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) have signed a memorandum on a $100 million project.
The project aims to develop STEM education in schools in grades 7-11. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Public Education.
It is planned to improve the standards of curriculum and textbooks in STEM sciences (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), teacher training, purchase of necessary equipment for schools, repair of school buildings and development of educational technologies.
In addition, the project envisages improving the system of assessment of students' knowledge in schools of Uzbekistan.
The project will be implemented in accordance with the Business Plan of Foreign Operations in the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2020-2022, with recent state initiatives and the Concept of development of the national education system of the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2030.
