Infographic: Uzbekistan’s Trade with ECO Countries in the first 5 months of 2025

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in the 17th ECO Summit held in Khankendi, Azerbaijan. In this context, CERR analyzed Uzbekistan’s trade with ECO member countries over the first five months of this year.

ECO countries are among Uzbekistan’s key trading partners.

As of the first five months of 2025, Uzbekistan’s trade turnover with ECO countries increased by 5.7% compared to the same period in 2024, amounting to $4.9 billion.

The share of ECO countries in Uzbekistan’s total foreign trade amounted to 15.6%.

Exports rose by 7.3%, reaching $2.2 billion, while imports grew by 4.5%, totaling $2.7 billion.

During the reporting period, the largest volume of trade turnover with ECO countries was recorded with Kazakhstan – $1.8 billion (36.6%) and Turkey – $1.1 billion (22%), followed by Afghanistan – $622 million (13%), Kyrgyzstan – $322.4 million (6%), Turkmenistan – $288.3 million (6%), Tajikistan – $265.7 million (5%), Pakistan – $226.4 million (5%), Iran – $184.7 million (4%), and Azerbaijan – $99.5 million (2%).

For reference: The Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) is a regional intergovernmental organization established by Iran, Turkey, and Pakistan in 1985 in Tehran, where its Secretariat headquarters is currently located. The organization is the successor to the "Regional Cooperation for Development" (RCD), which operated under the Charter of the "Izmir Treaty" signed in 1977 by Iran, Pakistan, and Turkey. Today, ECO comprises 10 member states: Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. The overall goal of ECO is to achieve sustainable economic development of its member states and the region as a whole.
