Recent reforms and the increased need for evidence-based policy making are important to release the scientific and creative potential of researchers in line with current economic and social development.
The Center for Economic Research and Reform announces a competition for the best scientific and journalistic article on socio-economic research among academic economists, researchers, experts and analysts.
The event aims to encourage research collaboration with experts and independent researchers in economics and social sciences, to provide a platform to discuss research with reputable scientific circles and most importantly, to create an opportunity to acquire and apply modern economic analysis tools.
Competition prize amount: 50 million sum
For the first place - 25 million sum
For the second place - 15 million sum
For the third place - 10 million sum
As well as a separate prize for the best article of young authors under the age of 22 is the amount of 10 million sum.
Coverage: All researchers, regardless of where they live and work, who study the economic and social development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as industries and regions can apply for the Competition.
Research subjects:
- Macroeconomics;
- Reducing poverty;
- Social protection;
- Employment, migration, the labor market;
- Enterprise development;
- Banks and financial services;
- The development of foreign trade and integration;
- Industries;
- Infrastructure construction and development;
- Digitalization and development of IT sector;
- Transport and logistics;
- Tourism and HoReCa (hospitality industry);
- Energy;
- Agriculture.
Research articles which published from February 1 to September 1 are allowed to participate.
Articles can be in Russian, Uzbek and English.
Participants of the Competition will be selected solely on the basis of the quality of their research, regardless of the academic status of the author.
Applicants must submit articles no later than September 1, 2021.
The winners will be announced on October 1, 2021.
Incomplete articles will be accepted in case the latest version is submitted no later than August 15, 2021.
