MIFT: Multifaceted collaboration between Uzbekistan and Turkey discussed

Yesterday, virtual talks have been held between Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov and Vice President of Turkey Fuat Oktay, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade, the parties discussed the current state of implementation of bilateral agreements in the investment, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as further steps to speed up their implementation.

Several issues related to the implementation of projects included in the roadmap following the visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Turkey in February last year were considered.

The practical aspects of the introduction of Turkey’s experience in the industrial development of regions and organization of effective activities of special economic zones in Uzbekistan were discussed.

An agreement was reached to intensify the joint work of relevant ministries of the two countries to agree and approve the Preferential Trade Agreement between Uzbekistan and Turkey as soon as possible.

The parties also discussed the issues related to holding the 6th meeting of Uzbekistan – Turkey Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation.
