Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover with Pakistan in the period 2017-2020 increased by 3.4 times from $36.2 million up to 123.1 million dollars. At the same time, the growth of trade turnover increased over the specified period by almost 10 times from 10.2 million dollars. up to 98.3 million dollars.
At the end of 2020, the volume of mutual trade with Pakistan, despite the pandemic, increased by 0.2% compared to 2019 due to the growth of Uzbekistan's exports by 0.6% to $98.5 million. Imports decreased by 1.4% to $24.8 million.
In the structure of Uzbekistan's exports, food products account for 81%; textile products - 16.8%; services - 1.2%. In the structure of imports from Pakistan, chemical products account for 72%; food products (potatoes, citrus fruits, rice, etc.) - 18%.
As it is known, the most favored nation regime in mutual trade has been established between Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
Investment cooperation is developing dynamically. As of January 1, 2021, 143 enterprises with the participation of Pakistani investments operating in the republic, 43 of them are joint ventures and 100 enterprises with 100% Pakistani capital.
