Infographics: Uzbekistan's foreign trade in January-August 2026

In January–August 2026, Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover reached $57.4 billion, increasing by $4 billion, or 7.6%, compared with the same period of 2025, according to the press service of the National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Exports amounted to $22.9 billion, while imports reached $34.5 billion. Imports accounted for 60% of total foreign trade turnover and exports for 40%.

During the reporting period, Uzbekistan recorded a foreign trade deficit of $11.6 billion.

The largest shares in Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover were accounted for by China — 23%, the Russian Federation — 16%, Kazakhstan — 6.5%, Türkiye — 3.4%, and Afghanistan — 2.5%.

By country group, the largest volume of foreign trade was recorded with CIS countries at $21.1 billion, followed by EAEU countries at $14.6 billion and European Union countries at $4.6 billion. Trade with other countries reached $36.3 billion.

In the overall structure of foreign trade, services accounted for 23%, machinery and equipment for 21%, manufactured goods for 14%, food, beverages and tobacco products for 11%, chemicals for 10%, fuels and lubricants for 7%, finished goods for 6%, other goods for 6%, and non-food raw materials for 2%.

In the export structure, services accounted for the largest volume at $8.5 billion. Exports of manufactured goods amounted to $3.2 billion, other goods, including gold, to $3 billion, finished goods to $2.1 billion, food, beverages and tobacco products to $2 billion, chemicals to $1.8 billion, fuels and lubricants to $1.1 billion, machinery and equipment to $0.9 billion, and non-food raw materials to $0.2 billion.

In the import structure, machinery and equipment ranked first at $11.3 billion. Imports of manufactured goods amounted to $4.8 billion, services to $4.6 billion, food, beverages and tobacco products to $4.4 billion, chemicals to $4.2 billion, fuels and lubricants to $2.8 billion, finished goods to $1.2 billion, non-food raw materials to $1.1 billion, and other goods to $0.3 billion.

At the same time, merchandise exports excluding gold reached $11.5 billion, increasing by 28.7% compared with the same period of 2025.
