Tax Revenues, Exports and Exchange Activity Rise Across Uzbekistan’s Regions - CERR Analysis

The Center for Economic Research and Reforms (CERR) analyzed business activity across Uzbekistan’s regions for January–August 2026.

The analysis covers trends in tax and customs revenues, goods exports, loans issued by commercial banks, as well as transactions on the Uzbek Republican Commodity Exchange.

From January 1 to August 31, 2026, tax revenues nationwide increased by 39.9% compared with the same period of 2025, reaching 196.2 trillion sums.

High growth rates in tax revenues were recorded in Tashkent region - 35.1%, Syrdarya - 31.6%, Samarkand - 28.9%, Navoi - 28.3%, and Jizzakh - 28.2%.

Over the same period, customs revenues nationwide increased by 17.6%, reaching 55.4 trillion sums.

Significant growth in customs revenues was recorded in the Republic of Karakalpakstan - 68.6%, Namangan region - 48.1%, Fergana - 37.7%, Navoi - 31.2%, and Tashkent region - 25.3%.

From January 1 to August 31, 2026, goods exports nationwide amounted to $11.1 bln, an increase of 30.9% compared with the same period of the previous year.

Significant export growth was recorded in Bukhara region - 58.3%, Tashkent - 57.9%, Andijan - 35.1%, Navoi - 34.7%, Surkhandarya - 34.4%, and Tashkent city - 32.8%.

From January 1 to August 31, 2026, the volume of loans issued by commercial banks amounted to 263.0 trillion sums, up 5.5% compared with the same period of 2025.

Significant growth in lending was recorded in Samarkand region - 45.0%, Andijan - 33.8%, and Bukhara - 27.5%.

In Andijan region, the volume of loans issued to individuals increased by 55% compared with the same period of the previous year, contributing to a 33.8% increase in the region’s total lending volume.

The volume of transactions on the Uzbek Republican Commodity Exchange increased by 31.6%, reaching 125.9 trillion sums.

The highest growth in transaction volumes was recorded in Surkhandarya region - 104.8%, driven primarily by cotton fiber, gasoline and liquefied gas. In Bukhara region, transaction volumes increased by 82.5%, supported by construction materials, gasoline and diesel fuel. In Navoi region, transaction volumes rose by 41.5%, with construction materials, diesel fuel and mineral fertilizers accounting for the main traded commodities.
