The World Bank's Development Policy Operation (DPO) program aims to support countries in implementing structural reforms, improving the investment climate, and enhancing the population’s quality of life.
DPOs are concessional loans offered by the World Bank at low interest rates to support the implementation of key economic and social reforms that accelerate a country’s transition to an inclusive and competitive market economy.
The meeting focused on discussing the next phase of the economic development program. During the talks, the CERR Director presented the wide-ranging reforms underway in Uzbekistan, as well as the results of CERR’s research assessing the impact of these reforms on the national economy.
World Bank experts praised the progress of reforms carried out under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, noting their significant impact on the country’s economic development.

The experts also underlined the need to study the effects of phasing out export subsidies.
The parties discussed the reform agenda, including cooperation in the field of public finance and program-based budgeting. Experts highlighted the importance of conducting in-depth analytical work on public finance systems and tax policy.
