Experts of the Center for Economic Research and Reforms presented the main changes in the socio-economic development of active reforms that took place in the region in 2017-2022.

In 2017-2022, a huge creative work was carried out in the Andijan region. Over the past 6 years, the gross regional product (GRP) of the region in current prices has increased from 19.8 trillion sums up to 54.5 trillion sums (growth in real terms +41.1%). This, in turn, ensured the growth of GRP per capita to more than 15 million sums. During this period, the population of the region increased by 10.3% and reached 3.3 million people.

As a result of the effective use of the industrial potential of the region, the volume of industrial production increased from 13.3 trillion sums up to 54.1 trillion sums or 1.9 times. The share of industry and construction in the GRP of the region increased from 18.1% to 29.0%. This, to a large extent, contributed to the diversification of the region's economy and its development.

Due to the reform of agriculture and the creation of a favorable environment for agribusiness, the volume of products produced in this sector increased by 21%. If in 2017 the volume of agricultural products produced amounted to 16.0 trillion sums, then in 2022 this figure reached 37.4 trillion sums.

As a result of actions aimed at fully satisfying the demand for modern household services, the volume of market services in the region increased 1.8 times in the reporting period and reached 17.6 trillion sums in 2022.

Due to the measures aimed at liberalizing foreign trade and stimulating export activities, the volume of exports of the region has increased 2.1 times over the past 6 years and reached $1.2 billion.

The measures taken to improve the business environment and support business entities allowed to master $5.4 billion of investments. As a result, the number of operating enterprises increased from 35.4 thousand in 2017 to 49.2 thousand in 2022, or 1.4 times.

In the field of infrastructure development, 35.1 km of gas pipeline and 2043 km of water supply networks were laid during this period, 20.5 km of new highways were commissioned. During this period, about 244 thousand new jobs were created.

The population of the region is 10% of the population of the country, and the territory of the region is only 1% of the territory of the republic. Therefore, measures were taken to meet the growing needs of the population for housing and social services. In particular, over the past 6 years, 6,868,600 square meters of housing have been commissioned in the region, 24,800 places have been created in preschool educational institutions, 59,700 places in schools, 4,400 new places in hospitals.
