President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Foreign Minister of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarifi on April 5, who arrived on official visit to Uzbekistan.
The talks addressed economic cooperation, development of commercial ties, advancement of new cooperation projects, the president's press service reported.
Importance of expansion of cooperation in transport and communications was noted, including effective use of Iran's sea ports and development of Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Oman transport corridor.
Relevant aspects of international and regional agenda of a mutual interest, including regional security and promotion of the peaceful process in Afghanistan were discussed among other issues.
