Which regions of Uzbekistan showed the greatest business activity in November 2023

Analysis of business activity is monthly calculated by CERR on the basis of operational data (monitoring in all regions of the republic, according to the data of the State Customs Committee, the State Tax Committee, the Central Bank and the UzEx).

According to the monitoring results, tax revenues increased by 9.9% over the month.

Significant growth in tax revenues was recorded in the Jizzakh (+36.1%), Syrdarya (+24.2%) and Tashkent (+22.4%) regions.

In terms of sources, income from property tax increased by 28%, land tax by 26% and income tax by 24%.

Receipts from customs payments increased by 25.2%. Jizzakh (+139.4%) and Surkhandarya (+82.1%) regions showed significant growth; Samarkand (+31.7%) and Andijan (+29.4%) regions, as well as the city of Tashkent (+29%) showed a significant increase in revenues.

The increase in customs revenues is mainly due to an increase in imports of such types of products as transport equipment and its components, technical equipment, metal and metal products, electrical engineering, as well as food.

According to the Customs Committee, export of goods have decreased by 5.8% since the beginning of the year, which is due, among other things, to a decrease in exports of yarn, mineral fertilizers, knitwear, metals and products, food and fruit and vegetable products, plastics, natural gas, electrical products and fertilizers.

The regions with the highest export growth were Khorezm (+43.8%), Kashkadarya (+36.7%) and Samarkand (+14.4%) regions.

The volume of loans issued by commercial banks increased by 10.1%.

The issuance of loans increased in almost all regions of the republic, the largest growth in November was shown by Navoi (+49.6%), Syrdarya (+29.6%), Jizzakh (+21.9%), Khorezm (+17.2%) regions and Tashkent (+21.6%).

During the month, transactions on the UzEx decreased by 3.2%. The regions that maintained the growth of exchange activity were the Syrdarya region (+16.4%), the Republic of Karakalpakstan (+8.7%) and Tashkent (+6.4%).

The increase in the volume of transactions in these regions is ensured by sales of such goods as liquefied gas, construction and household materials, wheat flour, cotton fiber, technical seeds, wheat, non-ferrous metals, diesel fuel, automobile gasoline, mineral fertilizers, sugar, rolled ferrous metals, etc.

In November, 78,216 new enterprises were created, the largest number of which were registered in Ferghana (7,385), Samarkand (6,672), Tashkent (6,358) regions, the Republic of Karakalpakstan (5,478) and Tashkent (15,566).
