Speaking about the need and plans for expanding privatization next year, the President recalled that today state-owned companies are a heavy burden on the state due to instability.
He announced that starting from this year, a program of reforming all state-owned enterprises is being implemented.
Being objective, the privatization of state shares in companies will help attract additional funds and resources, and will definitely improve management and control over the operation of the enterprise.
There are still companies in Uzbekistan that are 100% state-controlled. It is necessary to continue reduce the state's share in such companies, not even at the expense of attracting funds to the budget, but in order to attract private management, strengthen control over the work of these companies, increase competition, raise funds and resources for the investment purposes of these companies.
I emphasize that privatization should not be viewed only as a budget replenishment.
