Infographics: How the COVID-19 pandemic has affected businesses?

The Center for Economic Research and Reforms, with the support of the United Nations Development Program in Uzbekistan (UNDP), conducted a survey of enterprises in June 2020 on the impact of the pandemic and the preventive measures introduced by the government on the activities of small and medium-sized enterprises.
Infographics: How the COVID-19 pandemic has affected businesses?

The survey involved 887 heads of enterprises from 14 regions of the republic aged 18 to 79, among whom the overwhelming majority (79%) were men. Women-leaders of small and medium-sized businesses made up one fifth of the total number of respondents (21%).

The analysis showed that the bulk of the organizations did not stop their business activities amid the COVID-19 pandemic and quarantine measures. Employed employees, in general, continued to work. Dismissals were rare.

The impact of the pandemic on businesses

The survey showed that the overwhelming majority of respondents (78%) indicated that their organization continues to conduct business in the context of the introduced preventive measures related to the pandemic.
