Uzbekistan's GDP growth in the first half of the year amounted to 6.2%

The Uzbek economy grew by 6.2 percent in January-June, according to the State Statistics Committee. During the same period last year, the figure was 1.1%.

The index of physical volumes of industrial production for January-June this year also showed growth, and in 2020 it was 0.3%, against a negative value of 8.5%.

The number of operating enterprises and organizations this year amounted to 515,342. Last year, the figure was 433,868.

Earlier it was reported that the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development expects Uzbekistan's GDP to grow by 5.6% in 2021, the World Bank has maintained its GDP growth forecast for Uzbekistan by 4.8% in 2021 and 5.5% in 2022. The IMF forecasts economic growth in Uzbekistan at 5%, ADB at 4% in 2021 and 5% in 2022.
