Business activity across the regions of Uzbekistan continues to show steady growth — CERR

According to the preliminary data of the Tax and Customs Committees, the Central Bank, and the Republican Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange, the Center for Economic Research and Reforms monitors business activity in the regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

For January–November of the current year, tax revenues showed a consistently positive trend, increasing by 16.7% compared to the same period last year. The most notable increase in revenues was recorded in Navoi, Tashkent and Syrdarya regions, as well as in the city of Tashkent, where average growth rates were around 36%.

Personal income tax revenues increased by 20.1%, property tax — by 16.5%, and land tax — by 21.2%.

Customs revenues grew by 20.3% year-on-year. The highest growth was observed in Syrdarya region (up 63.9%) and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (up 39%). Stable positive dynamics were also recorded in Tashkent, Navoi, Jizzakh and Namangan regions and in the city of Tashkent, where revenues increased by an average of 30%.

Analysis of foreign economic indicators shows that merchandise exports increased by 12.4%. The most significant export growth was recorded in Surkhandarya region — almost 70%, and in Samarkand region — 32.3%.

At the same time, lending activity demonstrated strong growth. Over the reporting period, the volume of loans issued by commercial banks increased by 37.7%. The highest growth was observed in Syrdarya region (+78.6%) and Namangan region (+49.8%). In Bukhara, Navoi regions and in the city of Tashkent, lending growth also exceeded 40%.

The volume of transactions on the Uzbek Republican Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange increased by 21.2% compared to last year. Growth in exchange activity was recorded in most regions of the country, particularly in Bukhara region, where it rose by 35.9%. Significant expansion was also noted in Jizzakh, Syrdarya and Fergana regions, averaging around 33%.
