In December 2024, the BAI was 1,029 points, and compared to the previous month, it increased significantly by 2.9%. At the same time, there is a 12.4 percent increase in BAI compared to the same period last year.

In the regional context, Kashkadarya region showed the highest growth
In December 2024, the BAI for all 14 regions increased compared to the previous month.
In particular, Kashkadarya (58.8%), Bukhara (45.6%), Syrdarya (44.3%), Namangan (44.2%) regions and Tashkent (41.6%) experienced significant growth.
The number of interbank payment transactions in December 2024 amounted to 6,370.2 thousand and increased by 456.4 thousand transactions (an increase of 7.7%), compared with November 2024.
The number of banking transactions in all 14 regions has increased.
The number of banking transactions between legal entities increased in all 14 regions compared to the previous month. In particular, Kashkadarya (54%), Republic of Karakalpakstan (26.4%), Samarkand (23.5%) and Syrdarya (20.6%) regions saw significant growth.
The exchange component of the BAI was 1.3050. This means a 3.5% increase in the component level compared to the previous month. This growth is associated with a significant increase in the average physical volume of goods purchased in each transaction by 10.6% and decrease in the number of transactions by 3.6%.
At the Republican Commodity Exchange (UzEx), the total turnover amounted to 6,277.7 billion sums, which is 2% less than in the previous month.
The component of operating business entities amounted to 0.9363, which means that the component decreased by 6.4% compared to the level of the previous month. And also, this indicator has a negative value compared to the same period last year with a moderate decline of 7.8%.
The number of operating business entities decreased by 41,439 units compared to November 2024 (494,984 units) and amounted to 453,545 units.
The number of large enterprises decreased by 99 units.
During the reporting period, the number of small enterprises decreased from 400,870 to 358,116 units, which is a decrease of 42,754 units. Also, the number of farms decreased from 90,338 to 91,752 units, which is an increase of 1,442 units. The number of operating large enterprises amounted to 3,677 units, which is an decrease of 99 units compared to November 2024.
The index of protected trademarks was 1.0750, which means an increase of 7.5% compared to the previous month. This month, 516 trademarks and trade names were registered by legal entities.
